But there’s much more to Haridwar – it is the home of Ayurveda and the Gurukul form of education. The pandas (pundits) here record the genealogy (family tree) of Indian families. It is the location where the Ganges leaves the Himalayas and enters the plains and is a place of unmatched greenery and beauty. Add white water rafting, trekking trails and a national park and you can see that Haridwar is an all-rounder that can cater to all your holiday needs.

And Haridwar has a modern and industrial side to it as well. It is the 2nd largest city in Uttarakhand and home to BHEL and SIDCUL – with chemical, manufacturing, IT and auto industries. Along with Roorkee located nearby, it is a large industrial hub, located a quick 3 to 4 hours drive from Delhi and Chandigarh.
